Ray Parlour was in Indonesia recently visiting one of the most disadvantaged slum communities in North Jakarta.
An Arsenal 'Invincible' in 2004, he was there to meet children involved in the club's new football programme with Save the Children.
Arsenal say the programme, funded by their charity ball last season, uses football as a way to allow vulnerable children to escape their difficult circumstances. It gives them a safe space to play, helps to build confidence and encourages teamwork among the boys and girls taking part.
“I met a young boy called Dhani who lives on a bench at the edge of a rubbish dump," Parlour explained.
