Arsenal players have been left ‘stunned and upset’ by the shock sacking of long-serving physiotherapist Colin Lewin, after 23 years with the Gunners.
Lewin, head of the club's medical department, has been told his services are no longer needed, having joined Arsenal one year before Arsene Wenger's appointment as manager.
A number of Arsenal's backroom staff have followed Wenger out of the door as the club prepare for life beyond the Frenchman.
As things stand, it appears Wenger's assistant Steve Bould and Jens Lehmann, the former goalkeeper who was recruited to the coaching staff just last summer, will remain under the new manager.
