Arsenal dealt injury blow as first-team star is ruled out of Champions League showdown with Real Madrid

An Arsenal star has been ruled out of his side's Champions League trip to Real Madrid on Wednesday.

The Gunners took a sensational 3-0 lead in the quarter-final tie last week, courtesy of two Declan Rice free-kick goals and a cherry on top from Mikel Merino.

Victory in the second leg would secure Arsenal's first appearance in the Champions League semi-finals since 2009 in their return to the competition after an eight-year hiatus.

Arsenal will certainly be without long-term absentees Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori and Kai Havertz for their travels to the Spanish capital.
