Arsenal have confirmed Mail Sport’s exclusive story that sporting director Edu is leaving the club.
As we outlined earlier on Monday, the Gunners transfer specialist is wanted by Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis to head up his portfolio of clubs that also includes Olympiakos and Rio Ave.
It is understood that Edu is minded to take the role with Marinakis - which is expected to secure him a major pay increase on his salary at Arsenal.
Sources have indicated that Edu currently earns close to £3million at the Emirates.
However, it is the attraction of getting to grips with Marinakis’ multi-club operation that is said to have tempted Edu into taking the bombshell decision to leave the Emirates Stadium.
