Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis suggests Arsene Wenger will not retire after his summer exit: 'He is in great shape'

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has suggested Arsene Wenger could continue his managerial career away from the club and says the process to find his successor 'begins today'.

Wenger will step down as Arsenal manager at the end of the season after a 22-year reign, but his official statement failed to mention any suggestion of retirement.

And Gazidis believes the 68-year-old still has the competitive drive to start a new project at another club.

Speaking at the Emirates Stadium on Friday, Gazidis said: 'He is somebody who is in great shape.
