Arsenal at the World Cup

One Gunner was involved in World Cup action on Saturday night. Scroll down to find out how they got on.

Mesut Ozil was an unused substitute as Germany recorded a dramatic 2-1 win over Sweden in Group F.

Janne Andersson’s Sweden took the lead in the 32nd minute, when Ola Toivonen raced through on goal and delivered a deft chip over the onrushing Manuel Neuer.

But just two minutes into the second half, Germany had levelled the score through Marco Reus, who made no mistake in firing home from close range.

Sweden had shown great defensive resilience, but deep into stoppage time Toni Kroos stepped up for a free-kick and fired the ball into the top right corner 20 yards from goal.
