Arsenal 1-2 Watford: Younes Kaboul and Troy Deeney score to shock the Gunners as Alex Iwobi's strike is scant consolation in damaging defeat

So much for fresh minds and rested limbs. Sometimes there really is no logic to the concept of squad rotation.

Three days after Arsenal's second-string won by five goals in the FA Cup at Southampton, the first team made a sluggish return and were two down inside 13 minutes at home to a team devoid of either form or momentum.

Arsene Wenger, banned from the touchline, frowned down from the stands as Watford went ahead through goals from Younes Kaboul and Troy Deeney.
