It may be the New Year but some things just stay the same. It's yet another winter and Manchester City have a commanding lead at the top of the Premier League table.

The first weekend of 2022 couldn't have gone any better for Pep Guardiola. City showed their title credentials by scoring a late winner at Arsenal when they weren't playing well, before watching Chelsea and Liverpool both drop points on Sunday.

Guardiola's City don't tend to give up commanding leads like these at the top of the table, but this season has been so bizarre that anything can happen.
