WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Army West Point men's basketball team (5-12, 1-2 PL) fell to American Saturday afternoon in Bender Arena.
Army opened the half strong jumping out to a 18-13 lead behind a balanced scoring attack.
After that though, turnovers and the Eagles catching fire changed the outlook of the game. They closed the first half on a 30-7 run over the final 9:10 of the first half to take a 15 point lead into the break. Army had eight first half turnovers which led to 13 American points. Army forced only three turnovers in the opening frame to lead to two points.
