WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army defensive back Marquel Broughton has received an invitation to participate in rookie minicamp with the Denver Broncos.
Broughton, a two-time team captain (2021-22), became the first Army defender since 2014 (Jeremy Timpf) to record 85+ tackles and 3+ INTs in a season this past season. His 244 career total tackles finished as the 8th most by any Army defender since 2000. Broughton also finished his Army career with seven interceptions, which is T-2nd most by Army defenders in interceptions since 2000, only trailing Donovan Travis, 2008-10, (11).
Additionally, he was named the COL Thruston Hughes Memorial Award winner as the Most Valuable Player at the team banquet in March and he has served as the 1st Regimental Commander this academic year where he has directly led more than 1,000 cadets and excelled at balancing responsibilities across a wide spectrum of influence.
