BETHLEHEM, PA. – Josh Scovens became the first ever Army West Point men's basketball player to win Patriot League Rookie of the Week and Patriot League Player of the Week in the same week, the league announced Monday afternoon. It also only the second time a player won both awards in the same week (Deon Perry, Loyola 2.27.23).
The freshman had a historic game against Stony Brook, he scored 31 points on 12-15 shooting, and 6-8 from deep. He also added seven assists, five rebounds, and four steals to the incredible game.
He became the first player in Patriot League history (with tracked data) to score 30 points while shooting 80 percent from the field and 75 percent from three with at least eight attempts from deep and only the 47th in D1 history and only the seventh freshman.
