WEST POINT, NY - Army West Point hockey (6-15-1, 4-10-1 AHA) was taken down by Holy Cross (11-10-4, 6-8-3 AHA) by a score of 3-1 as the Crusaders earned a series split on Saturday afternoon at Tate Rink.
Michael Sacco scored a game-tying goal at the end of the first period, but Army was unable to get anything past Thomas Gale in the Holy Cross as Army eventually outshot its opponent 30-28 thanks to a 16-9 advantage in the third period.
Army opened up the game on the power-play thanks to a pregame protocol violation on the Crusaders, as the story of game one was the 29 penalty minutes from Holy Cross which led to seven Army power-plays.
