First-Half Surge Lifts Army Past Lafayette

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's basketball team got back in the win column here Wednesday night with a 80-73 triumph over Lafayette.

The Black Knights earned their third Patriot League victory of the season, and ended a four-game slid shifting their overall record to 9-14. The Leopards fall to 2-9 in the conference and 6-16 overall.

Lafayette jumped out to a quick 6-2 edge at the 17:15 mark of the opening period but the Cadets wasted little time trailing. The Black Knights used a 14-3 run to take over the lead at 16-9 with just under 12 minutes to play in the half.
