SYRACUSE, N.Y. - David Symmes fired a shot past Syracuse goalie Evan Molloy with 0.5 seconds left as the Army West Point men's lacrosse team upset sixth ranked Syracuse, 14-13, at the Carrier Dome on Saturday.
Army (3-1) went toe-to-toe with the Orange all game long and never relinquished the lead after taking a 4-3 lead at the end of the first quarter. The game featured four ties and and only one lead change when Army took the 4-3 lead after the Orange jumped out to a 2-0 advantage.
Cole Johnson finished the day with four points to lead the Black Knights with a hat trick and an assist, while Symmes, Conor Glancy and Matthew Donovan added two goals apiece.
