JONESBORO -- Making its first appearance in the postseason National Invitation Tournament since 1991, Arkansas State lacked no motivation as it thoroughly dominated Saint Louis in a 103-78 victory Tuesday night at First National Bank Arena.
With the win, the Red Wolves advance to the second round of the NIT and will face the winner of North Texas and Furman, who play Wednesday night in Denton, Texas. The second round will be played March 23-24, with times and sites to be determined.
The 103 points marked the Red Wolves' highest scoring output against a Division I opponent this season.
