Wolves' LB starts after multiple stops

JONESBORO -- They jab at Tajhea Chambers. They say he's "34" years old and ask the sophomore is still here.

"The oldest sophomore on the planet," Arkansas State University Coach Blake Anderson lightheartedly fired at the 21-year-old Chambers.

Four years, two season-ending injuries and a rare switch from quarterback to linebacker have led to Chambers becoming the brain and voice of the ASU defense.

"To go through what he's gone through," Anderson said, "that's just not normal. A lot of guys would have thrown in the towel."

Anderson recalls how Chambers' turbulent journey began.

He was in the Chambers' Georgia home, hoping to seal one of the centerpieces of his first full recruiting cycle as ASU's coach prior to the 2015 season.
