In what will be arguably the most important game to date in the Sun Belt Conference this season, Arkansas State will travel to Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday afternoon for a matchup that will determine sole possession of first place in the West division.
Louisiana-Lafayette (7-1, 4-0 Sun Belt Conference) enters the game as a 14 1/2 point favorite. The Ragin' Cajuns only loss came against Tulane on Sept. 21; the Green Wave defeated them 41-33 at Cajun Field.
With both Louisiana-Monroe and South Alabama suffering defeats last Saturday, Arkansas State (5-3, 3-1) took control of second place in the West division, trailing the Louisiana-Lafayette by one game.
