JONESBORO, Ark. (1/15/17) – The Arkansas State women’s bowling team registered a fifth-place finish in the Mid-Winter Invitational Sunday at Hijinx Family Entertainment Center in Jonesboro and totaled a 9-4 record during the three-day event.
A-State (38-12) began the day as the No. 3 seed and faced off against fourth-seeded Stephen F. Austin, but the Ladyjacks jumped out to a 3-0 (257-145, 176-169, 188-168) advantage in the best-of-seven Baker match. A-State won a close game four 188-187, but Stephen F. Austin won game five 197-157 to claim a 4-1 victory over the Red Wolves.
Arkansas State played Vanderbilt for the right to go to the third-place match and won the first game 182-167, but dropped three straight to the Commodores by scores of 188-153, 202-172, and 212-205 to fall behind 3-1.
