ASU assistant AD arrested

Arkansas State assistant athletic director for football operations Jason Andrews was arrested at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and charged with public intoxication, according to the Jonesboro Police Department.

Andrews, 33, who was hired in January 2014 from North Carolina, was booked into Craighead County jail at 3:16 a.m. Wednesday and released at 11:09 a.m., according to an online jail log.

The ASU athletic department released a statement Wednesday night saying it was aware of the arrest and was gathering more information.

“The athletics department expects all employees to display a high standard of conduct and represent the university in an appropriate manner at all times” ASU said in the statement.
