NASHVILLE, Tenn. (9/21/24) – On a rain-shortened Saturday at the Belmont/Lipscomb Invitational, Arkansas State tennis tallied four singles victories to continue its strong start to the fall slate.
Three of the singles victories came against co-host Lipscomb, with another coming against a Belmont competitor. Two Red Wolves – Carla Muro Castellvi and Loles Carbo Chova – earned their first career singles victories.
Anna Grigoreva defeated Lipscomb's Sofiia Paladi – a 2024 first-team All-ASUN pick – 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-8 in three sets, while freshman Muro Castellvi battled back for a 4-6, 7-6(4), 10-7 three-set win over Serafima Bobrovnikova.
