Red Wolves Drop Decision to Central Arkansas in Spring Opener

JONESBORO, Ark. (2/6/21) – Opening the spring schedule, the Arkansas State women's tennis team dropped a 4-1 decision to Central Arkansas Saturday afternoon at the College Tennis Showcase hosted by RidgePointe Country Club.

Thea Rice won the only point of the day for A-State (0-1) in a three-set match at No. 1 singles' against Chunxi Xin. Rice dropped the first set, 3-6, but rallied for a 6-0, 6-0 in the next two to take the win.

In other singles' court competition, Fuka Nonoyama downed Jill Morse 6-1, 6-0 on court two, while Shelby King fell to Yada Vasupongchai 6-1, 6-1 on court three.
