BOSTON, Mass./NASHVILLE, Tenn./BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (2/14/25) – Jacob Pyeatt shattered his own school record in the 5000 meters Friday to highlight competition for the Arkansas State track and field teams.
Pyeatt finished in 13:38.63 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, placing 30th in a field that also included a new indoor world record holder in Olympian Grant Fisher. His program record bests his previous school-record mark by nearly 17 seconds.
Freshman Brett Jacobs moved to ninth in school history in the mile, running 4:10.56, ahead of Avinash Patel's collegiate-best time of 4:14.
