JONESBORO, Ark. (2/5/25) – After breaking the program record in the 3000 meters and nearly doing so in the mile over the weekend, Arkansas State track and field's Jacob Pyeatt earned Sun Belt Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors, the league office announced Wednesday.
On Friday at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky., Pyeatt became the first A-State runner to run faster than 8 minutes in the men's 3000 meters, clocking a time of 7:58.67 in his runner-up finish. He followed it up Saturday with a career-best time in the mile, placing sixth with a time of 4:02.
