Pipeline lasts with ASU’s new coach

JONESBORO -- The Alabama basketball coaching pipeline to Arkansas State continues.

Ryan Pannone, a former University of Alabama assistant coach, was formally introduced as the head men's basketball coach at Arkansas State during a news conference Friday morning.

Pannone is the program's 18th head coach and was presented a No. 18 jersey by Athletic Director Jeff Purinton as he was welcomed Thursday. Pannone replaces Bryan Hodgson, who left to take over the program at the University of South Florida after two successful seasons leading the Red Wolves.

Pannone and Hodgson both came to ASU after spending time working under Coach Nate Oats at Alabama.
