Almost 18 years later, Grant McCasland is returning to the Convocation Center.
This time, it is as a coach.
McCasland was introduced as Arkansas State's men's basketball coach Wednesday during a news conference at the Convocation Center in Jonesboro. He replaces John Brady, who announced his resignation in November and coached his final game with the Red Wolves on March 5.
On Nov. 16, 1998, McCasland was a senior guard at Baylor, which opened its season at Arkansas State. The Bears blew a 59-50 lead and lost 66-64 to the then-Indians in front of 5,861 at the Convocation Center.
