Masip Falls in Finals at ITA Central Regional

went 1-1 on the fourth day of competition at the 2017 ITA Central Regional hosted by the University of Kansas.

Masip won her consolation bracket semifinal round match over Southeast Missouri State’s Kseniya Zonova 6-3, 6-3 to become the first Red Wolves’ tennis player in recent history to advance to a final (main or consolation draw) at an ITA fall event.

In the final, the Teia, Spain native dropped two sets to Minnesota’s Mackenzy Middlebrooks 6-2, 6-1 to conclude her tournament with an overall record of 5-2.

As a team, Arkansas State came away from the event with 12 singles’ match victories, the most during the Kel Lange coached era.
