Late Rally falls Short for @ASTATEBaseball in Series Finale

JONESBORO, Ark. (3/26/16) — The Arkansas State baseball team rallied for four runs in the eighth inning, but it was not enough as Georgia Southern held on for a 9-7 victory Saturday afternoon at Tomlinson Stadium.

The Red Wolves (11-12, 3-6) trailed by six runs through seven innings, but came alive in the eighth inning to get within striking distance. Georgia Southern starting pitcher Brian Eichorn retired 20 consecutive hitters, but gave up a leadoff walk to Garrett Huff to start the eighth inning.

Following an error that allowed Neil Lambert to reach base, Ty White walked to load the bases for Jake Bakamus who drove in A-State’s first run since the first inning with a sacrifice fly.
