JONESBORO, Ark. (6/21/16) – Former Arkansas State University women’s basketball All-American Aundrea Gamble has been selected as a nominee for the 2016 NCAA Woman of the Year award in an announcement made by the organization.
Gamble, the 2015-16 Sun Belt Conference Female Student-Athlete of the Year, is one of seven representatives from the league to be nominated for the prestigious honor. She is also the first female athlete at A-State since Sharika Nelvis in 2013-14 to be selected as part of the nominee field.
The first player in Sun Belt Conference history to win the SBC women’s basketball Student-Athlete of the Year award three times, Gamble finished her career at Arkansas State in fourth place with 1,932 points and is tied for second with 479 career assists.
