If former Arkansas State center Jacob Bayer was flying under the radar of NFL scouts, that all changed with his performance at the Senior Bowl in February at Mobile, Ala.
Not only did scouts take notice of Bayer's physical abilities less than a year after having surgery to repair a torn ACL, but his preparation and effort level also made him standout from the competition.
As a result, he is considered a strong possibility to be chosen in the NFL Draft, which begins Thursday in Green Bay, Wis.
"I had a number of NFL coaches, general managers and scouts come up to me and talk about our program and how he represented us," ASU Coach Butch Jones said of Bayer's week at the Senior Bowl.
