Two days after defeating Georgetown 78-72 in Washington, D.C., Arkansas State (3-1) survived two last-second tying three-point attempts in defeating Army 60-57 as part of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational at West Point, N.Y.
Mac Hoffman hit two free throws with 52 seconds left to give the Red Wolves a 60-57 lead. Jahmiah Simmons rebounded a missed three-pointer by Army's Thomas Funk with 14 seconds remaining, but he was stripped by Thomas Kennedy. The ball ended up back in the hands of Funk, who airballed one final attempt.
ASU led by as many as 20 in the second half when Rashad Lindsey made a three-pointer with 14:06 remaining for a 45-25 lead.
