ASU aims to finish on offense

JONESBORO -- Buster Faulkner's biggest frustration stemming from Thursday's victory at Georgia State concerned something he can't control.

"That the 25-yard line wasn't the goal line," said Faulkner, ASU's offensive coordinator.

Faulkner was speaking in jest during Monday's news conference following a 31-16 victory over Georgia State last Thursday, but it underscored the Red Wolves' newest offensive issue heading into Saturday's 2 p.m. home finale against New Mexico State.

In a season that has presented ASU (4-4, 4-0 Sun Belt Conference) with offensive issues on almost a weekly basis, the latest showed up Thursday, when quarterback Justice Hansen used long pass plays to get to the Georgia State 25 or closer five times in the first half, only to come away with three points.
