FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (10/27/17) – The third-ranked Arkansas State women’s bowling team opened the 2017-18 season with a 4-1 record on the first day of the Brunswick Bearcat Open being hosted by McKendree at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Ill.
A-State opened with a rough 963-769 loss to No. 8 Fairleigh Dickinson, but bounced back to defeat No. 19 UAB 943-900 in its second match. The Red Wolves kept the momentum with a victory over No.11 Wisconsin-Whitewater 967-803 before posting their highest pinfall of the day in a 1,039-816 triumph over Drury. Arkansas State finished the day with an exciting 1,022-1,010 come-from-behind win over Saint Francis University which saw the Red Wolves strike out in the final three frames.
