JONESBORO, Ark. (3/15/17) – The Arkansas State baseball team allowed Southern Illinois to score three runs in the third inning and couldn’t generate enough offense to come back in a 4-2 loss Wednesday at Tomlinson Stadium.
Jeremy Brown began the scoring with his third home run of the season by hitting a solo shot off SIU (9-7) starter Austin McPheron in the bottom of the first, but A-State (9-7) starter Collin Cahill allowed three runs in the top of the third inning to allow the Salukis to take a 3-1 edge. Southern Illinois had two hits in the inning with a RBI double by Greg Lambert and run-scoring single by Jake Hand on a check swing along with a sacrifice fly.
