JONESBORO, Ark. -- Ty Cockfield scored 24 points as Arkansas State sprinted to an early lead and cruised in the second half to beat Evansville 87-77 on Tuesday night.
Tristin Walley added 14 points. Malik Brevard had six points with eight rebounds and two blocked shots for Arkansas State (3-5), which has won two of its last three games.
The Red Wolves had a 10-0 run to take a 43-33 lead into the break. They held that advantage through the second period. Arkansas State was 28 of 62 from the floor (45 percent) while limiting Evansville to 22-of-56 shooting (39 percent).
