ARLINGTON, Texas (9/28/18) – The Arkansas State volleyball team had its eight-match winning streak snapped Friday night at UT Arlington, falling 3-2 (21-25, 26-24, 20-25, 25-15, 13-15) against the Mavericks as it suffered its first Sun Belt Conference setback of the season.
The Red Wolves (10-6, 2-1) got a team-high 24 kills from senior Carlisa May and freshman Macey Putt collected her fourth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 13 digs, while senior Ellie Watkins and sophomore Tatum Ticknor led the team with 46 assists and 23 digs, respectively.
A-State’s longest winning streak since the 2016 season came to an end despite the fact that it produced more kills and blocks and a higher hitting percentage than UTA (8-5, 2-1).
