JONESBORO, Ark. (3/4/18) – The Arkansas State women’s tennis team jumped out to an early advantage with two victories in the doubles’ matches but were unable to carry the momentum into singles’ competition in a 4-3 loss to Murray State on Sunday afternoon at the A-State Tennis Complex.
For the third straight match the Red Wolves captured the doubles’ point behind strong outings from the pairs of Kirsty Veter/Sabina Jeresic and Anita Detlava/Berta Masdevall Masip who easily cruised to victories. Venter and Jeresic, who are now 5-4 in doubles’ competition this season, defeated Sarah Bjork/Jeanne Masson 6-1 on court three, while Detlava and Masdevall Masip earned their first win as a doubles’ pair in a 6-1 decision over Sara Loncarevic and Amina Hadzic.
