JONESBORO, Ark. (1/19/19) – The Arkansas State women’s basketball team fell behind Texas State by as many as 19 points in the first period and couldn’t overcome the slow start, suffering an 85-62 defeat in Sun Belt Conference play Saturday at First National Bank Arena.
The Red Wolves (8-9, 3-3) shot 39 percent from the field and 33 percent beyond the arc, while the Bobcats (9-9, 4-2) countered with a .522 shooting percentage and made 9-of-19 three pointers. A-State was hurt by 20 turnovers and saw Texas State collect 41 rebounds to its 25.
“Obviously we got off to a really poor start,” A-State head coach Brian Boyer said.
