JONESBORO, Ark. (11/30/19) – The Arkansas State men’s basketball team had its four-game winning streak snapped Saturday at First National Bank Arena, falling 76-57 to a Stephen F. Austin team coming off a victory over No. 1-ranked Duke earlier this week.
The Red Wolves (5-2) saw three players score in double figures and trailed the Lumberjacks just 30-27 at halftime, but they couldn’t overcome a strong second-half start by the Lumberjacks (6-1).
Freshman guard Caleb Fields scored a team-high 18 points while adding six assists and seven rebounds to lead A-State. Senior guard Canberk Kus reached double digits for the sixth time this year with 16 points and collected a team-high eight rebounds, while senior guard Jerry Johnson came off the bench to add 10 points.
