COLUMBIA, Mo. (9/30/19) – The Arkansas State women’s golf team began play Monday at the 12th annual Johnie Imes Invitational, shooting a first-round 301 at the Club at Old Hawthorne to place it tied for fourth among 15 teams.
The Red Wolves are tied with Illinois State for fourth, two strokes ahead of Fresno State and Northern Illinois. A-State trails third place FIU by four strokes and second place Oral Roberts by five. Host Missouri leads after a 2-over 290 in the first round
Junior Maria Jose Atristain Vega, sophomore Olivia Schmidt and freshman Elise Schultz all carded a first round 75 (+3) to stand tied for 17th in the individual standings.
