INDEPENDENCE, Minn. (9/12/21) – Arkansas State men's golf began the 2021-22 season Sunday at the Gopher Invitational and are 10th among 14 teams after 36 holes at Windsong Farm Golf Club.
A-State, featuring three newcomers among the five-player lineup, carded a 2-over par 286 in the first round and followed with a 9-over par 293 to finish the first two rounds with a total of 579 (+11). Kansas leads the field at 11-under par with Michigan State (-7) and Notre Dame (-5) rounding out the top three. The Red Wolves are one stroke behind Miami (Ohio) and Marquette for eighth (+10) and nine strokes shy of West Virginia (+2) for fifth.
