Peyton Martin with a game-high 18 points, to lead the Arkansas State women’s basketball team to a 62-58 victory over Sun Belt Conference-leader Little Rock Saturday afternoon at First National Bank Arena.
The Red Wolves improved to 8-4 on their home floor, bringing their overall record to 10-15 and Sun Belt mark to 5-9. A-State handed the Trojans just their third conference loss (11-3), and they now stand 15-10 overall.
“This was a hard-fought, good win that we certainly needed,” A-State head coach Brian Boyer said. “Obviously anytime you get a win against Little Rock it is going to come down to a situation like it was today because of the limited possessions.
