MEMPHIS, Tenn. (12/14/19) – A second-half surge by Memphis was tough to overcome for the Arkansas State women’s basketball team on Saturday, with the Red Wolves dropping a 78-50 decision to the Tigers at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
For the second game in a row, A-State (3-6) forced 23 turnovers but the Tigers (6-4) forced a nearly six-minute-long scoring drought to open the second half to extend their lead down the stretch. Kayla Williams scored in double figures against UM for the second year in a row, scoring 13 off the bench on 5-of-9 shooting (3-of-5 from three-point range), while Jada Ford also added 13.
