DENTON, Texas (3/23/25) – North Texas' Jasper Floyd sank a buzzer-beating jumper Sunday night inside the UNT Coliseum, as the Arkansas State men's basketball team saw its stellar season end in a 65-63 loss to the Mean Green in the second round of the NIT.
A-State (25-11) knotted up the contest on a layup by Taryn Todd with 10 seconds to play, but Floyd lifted the Mean Green (26-8) to the NIT quarterfinals with his game-winning basket.
The Red Wolves shot 36.9 percent (24-65) for the contest, including 8-for-27 from 3-point range. Izaiyah Nelson led the Red Wolves with his 10th double-double of the season, tallying 16 points and 14 rebounds.
