PITTSBURG, Kan. (12/6/19) – On Friday afternoon, the Arkansas State track and field team began its 2019-20 indoor season with three athletes competing in the Boo Rogers Pentathlon and Heptathlon.
A-State sophomore Camryn Newton-Smith posted a career-best performance to open the year in the pentathlon, placing third with 3,701 points, which moved her up to fifth all-time in program history in the event. Allie Hensley placed sixth with 3,348 points, just shy of her personal best.
In the pentathlon, Newton-Smith began the day by matching her collegiate best in the 60m hurdles, clocking 8.72, which ranks eighth in program history.
