BOONE, N.C. (10/7/18) – The Arkansas State women’s volleyball team fell to Appalachian State in five sets 25-20, 25-19, 25-27, 25-27 and 15-10 Sunday afternoon at the Holmes Convocation Center.
With the loss, A-State falls to 10-9 on the season and 2-4 in Sun Belt Conference play, while App State improved to 13-5 and 5-1 in the league.
A-State trailed 2-0 after the first two sets, but rallied for back-to-back wins in the third and fourth sets to force a decisive fifth set. The Mountaineers used a 7-0 run to build a 9-1 advantage in the final frame, but A-State responded and closed within 10-6 after and ace and kill by Carlisa May that forced a timeout.
