A-State Baseball to Install New Turf Playing Surface Bearing “Slayton Family Field” Name

JONESBORO, Ark. (9/6/24) – The Arkansas State University Board of Trustees voted today to approve the installation of a turf playing surface at Tomlinson Stadium and to name the Red Wolves' baseball field "Slayton Family Field" in honor of the Slayton Family Foundation.

A ground-breaking ceremony at Tomlinson Stadium will be held on a date to be announced at a later time, when the home of A-State baseball will officially begin its transition from a grass field to its first artificial surface ahead of the 2025 season.

The event, which will be open to the public, will celebrate the Slayton Family Foundation's significant contributions to A-State, including a donation to the Red Wolves Foundation to provide programmatic support of Red Wolves baseball.
