FAYETTEVILLE — Don’t be surprised if three rookies are in the rotation at defensive end when Arkansas opens the season against Portland State on Aug. 31 and fourth joins in later.
That’s the take of Razorbacks defensive ends coach Steve Caldwell, in his 41st year as a coach.
He’s got three healthy freshmen in Mataio Soli (6-4, 239), Zach Williams (6-4, 230) and Collin Clay (6-5, 285) all pushing for significant playing time and another in Eric Gregory (6-4, 275) who is trying to get back on the field after an injury last week.
“They’re all going to have to play,” Caldwell said.
