Williams, Whaley burst to forefront

FAYETTEVILLE -- The weather cooperated, the defense dialed its blitz pressure down a notch and the offense turned in a handful of big plays during Arkansas' first scrimmage of camp on Saturday at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

The offense scored touchdowns on three of four red-zone series, Austin Allen led the first offense on a 75-yard touchdown drive, and freshman running back Devwah Whaley turned in the play of the day during a 112-play scrimmage.

Conditions softened after a brutal week of blistering heat, with gentle breezes and temperatures in the mid-80s.

"I was really pleased," Coach Bret Bielema said after the Hogs' 11th workout of camp.
