FAYETTEVILLE — In the 102-season history of Arkansas baseball, no starting pitcher has had a more dominant campaign than Hagen Smith in 2024.
The junior left-hander won almost every award he was eligible for, with the exception of the sport’s two more prominent honors, the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy. Smith was a finalist for both awards that were won by Georgia third baseman Charlie Condon, whose campaign at the plate was as impressive as Smith’s on the mound.
Smith won the National Pitcher of the Year Award presented by the College Baseball Foundation — the college equivalent to a Cy Young Award.
