CHICAGO — Dallas Keuchel gave the Chicago White Sox a boost two years ago, helping a team with an exciting young core reach the playoffs.
That ended up being Keuchel's most successful season in Chicago. The veteran left-hander was designated for assignment on Saturday.
Keuchel is 2-5 with a 7.88 ERA in eight starts this year. He signed a $55.5 million, three-year contract with the White Sox in December 2019.
“Given the back of the baseball card, so to speak, we wanted to give him the opportunity this season to get back on track,” general manager Rick Hahn said.
